A double points offer for Thompson Hotels is a decent promotion, but the strict booking and registration requirements via the mobile app are an unnecessary layer of friction, excluding anyone who prefers or needs to use the website or other channels.

The 30,000 bonus point cap is also quite low for a double points offer, limiting its value for longer or more expensive stays. It’s a positive that it applies globally, but the execution makes it less appealing than it could be.
