World of Hyatt has updated its promotion for stays at new properties, effective from 1 October 2026. The previous '500 Reasons to Stay' offer, which provided 500 bonus points per night at newly opened hotels, has been discontinued. Members who book this specific rate at eligible new properties will now earn double points on their stays.

Key details

  • Effective from: 1 October 2026

  • Bonus: Double World of Hyatt points (an extra 5x points per dollar spent)

  • Maximum bonus: Up to 25,000 bonus points per qualifying stay

  • How to get it: Members must specifically book the 'New Hotel Member Bonus Offer' rate

This offer has been replaced by the 'New Hotel Member Bonus Offer' rate. This means members will receive their standard base points plus an additional 5x points per dollar spent, up to a maximum of 25,000 bonus points per qualifying stay. There does not seem to be a limit on the number of stays, unlike the latest Accor offer for new hotels.

For stays priced at over $100 per night, the new double points rate may yield more value than the previous 500 bonus points per night. However, members must book the specific 'New Hotel Member Bonus Offer' rate to qualify. This rate may not always be the cheapest available, nor can it be combined with other promotional rates such as Hyatt Prive or AAA rates.

Opinion

While an extra 5x points per dollar spent sounds promising, the requirement to book a specific—often more expensive—rate negates much of its potential value. The previous 500 bonus points were automatic regardless of the rate booked, offering a consistent incentive. Now, members must actively choose a less flexible option, making this an 'enhancement' in name only.
