World of Hyatt has introduced a 20% discount on purchased points running until 21 December 2026. Under the promotion, points cost 2.08 cents each when buying a minimum of 3,000 points in a single transaction.
Key details
End date: 21 December 2026 (11:59 pm ET)
Price: 2.08 US cents per point
Discount: 20% off when buying 3,000 points or more in one transaction
Purchase cap: Doubled to 110,000 points during the promotion period
Eligibility: Accounts active for at least 60 days
Hyatt has also doubled its standard annual purchase limit from 55,000 points to 110,000 points for the duration of the sale. Points must be bought in increments of 1,000, are fulfilled through Points.com, and typically post within 48 hours. Points purchases are non-refundable and do not count toward World of Hyatt elite status qualification.
Standard room redemptions remain tied to fixed category pricing, which can make acquired points useful for offsetting high cash rates during peak periods.

Opinion
A 20% discount isn't exactly an amazing offer from Hyatt. The program routinely runs promotions offering up to a 30% discount or a 40% bonus, which brings the effective rate down to around 1.8 cents per point. Paying 2.08 cents per point makes little sense for speculative stockpiling.
Unless you need a small top-up immediately to lock in an expensive standard award stay that would otherwise cost exorbitant cash rates, sit this one out and wait for a better sale.
