American AAdvantage and World of Hyatt Partnership to End
The "enhanced" partnership between American AAdvantage and World of Hyatt will conclude, though a basic earning option remains.

The “enhanced” partnership between American Airlines AAdvantage and World of Hyatt is set to end in the coming months.
For members who have linked their accounts, earning opportunities will continue for a limited period. American AAdvantage members who link their accounts by 15 November 2026 can continue to earn World of Hyatt awards through the Loyalty Point Rewards program until 28 February 2027. Similarly, World of Hyatt members who link their accounts by 15 November 2026 can continue to earn AAdvantage awards through the Milestone Rewards program until 31 December 2026.
A basic partnership between the two brands will remain in effect. Under this ongoing arrangement, AAdvantage members will still have the option to earn 500 AAdvantage miles per eligible Hyatt stay, instead of earning World of Hyatt points.
The partnership, initially launched in 2019, previously offered more extensive reciprocal points earning opportunities, allowing AAdvantage members to earn one mile per dollar spent with Hyatt and World of Hyatt members to earn one point per dollar spent with American. These broader earning options were scaled back significantly in early 2025. The most notable loss for travellers with the end of the enhanced partnership is the cessation of the unofficial annual reciprocal status challenge opportunities, which previously offered a fast track to elite status with the other program.

Opinion
Another partnership bites the dust. While the original version was genuinely valuable, offering reciprocal points earning and status challenges, it's been a slow bleed since early 2025. What's left is largely inconsequential. The ability to earn 500 AAdvantage miles per Hyatt stay is hardly compelling, especially compared to World of Hyatt points.
