The Conrad Nagoya has opened, marking the debut of Hilton's luxury brand, Conrad Hotels & Resorts, in Japan's Aichi Prefecture. The 170-room hotel is situated atop The Landmark Nagoya Sakae, a new skyscraper connected directly to Sakae Station in Nagoya's business and shopping district.

The hotel features 170 guest rooms, including 29 suites, all offering floor-to-ceiling windows with city skyline views. Rooms are equipped with bespoke metal art pieces that reflect the city's energy. The signature Conrad Suite, located on the 40th floor, spans 213 square metres.

Conrad Nagoya offers six dining and bar venues spread across the 31st and 40th floors. These include Sundrop, a lobby lounge and bar; Casa Oliva, an Italian restaurant with over 100 wine labels; and Songbird for coffee and pastries. On the 40th floor, Soryu provides a contemporary sushi kaiseki experience, while Soen focuses on teppan kaiseki. House of Mon is a rooftop bar serving craft cocktails.

Opinion

The arrival of the Conrad Nagoya is a notable development for luxury travelers. With Japan being extremely popular with tourists due to the low valuation of the Yen, it is not surprising that cities outside the typical range of Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto are also increasingly in demand.

Staying at the Conrad Nagoya comes with a steep price, though. Rates currently range around 70,000 Yen (approximately 440 USD) per night, about the same as the Conrad Tokyo.
