Hilton Honors has introduced Pay with Points, allowing elite members to apply points towards eligible on-property charges during digital check-out in the Hilton Honors app. The feature eliminates the need to settle charges at the front desk.
Key details
Eligibility: Hilton Honors Silver, Gold, and Diamond elite members
Current availability: 150 participating hotels across the United States
Rollout timeline: Expanding to 800+ hotels by the end of 2026, and 6,000+ in the US and Canada by early 2027
Redemption mechanism: Digital check-out in the Hilton Honors mobile app
Conversion rate: Undisclosed by Hilton
The option is currently live at 150 participating US hotels. Hilton plans to expand coverage to more than 800 properties by the end of 2026, followed by a broader rollout across more than 6,000 locations in the United States and Canada by early 2027. Availability and eligible charges vary by property, and Hilton has not published the specific per-point redemption value offered through the feature.

Opinion
Hilton touts this feature as a unique and 'first' experience, but several other hotel chains already allow guests to pay for hotel expenses with points. There is nothing unique about it. What is interesting, though, is the option to bypass check-out completely. I would definitely welcome that.
Hilton has not, however, disclosed the actual conversion rate for points. And we all know what that usually means: it will likely offer poor value. It is the same reason only elite members are eligible: programmes generally discourage non-elites from burning accrued points so easily. Overall, I would say this was a solid idea initially, but it seems to have been watered down in execution. It remains to be seen what the actual point value will be, but expectations should remain low.
