Alaska Airlines has launched a new sale on purchased miles, offering members a bonus of up to 100%. This "Mystery Sale" is valid for purchases made through October 19, 2026.

Key details

  • Bonus offer: Up to 100% bonus miles

  • Purchase deadline: 11:59 PM PT on October 19, 2026

  • Cost per 1,000 miles: $35.00 plus a 7.5% Federal Excise Tax (GST/HST for Canadian residents, QST for Quebec residents)

  • Purchase increments: 1,000 points up to 60,000 points; 5,000 points up to 100,000 points per transaction

  • Annual purchase limit: 150,000 miles for non-elite members

  • Who qualifies: All members; MVP, MVP Gold, and MVP 75K members have no annual purchase limit

Miles are purchased from Points.com at a base cost of $35.00 per 1,000 points. A 7.5% Federal Excise Tax applies to these purchases, with GST/HST for Canadian residents and QST for Quebec residents.

Non-elite members are subject to an annual purchase limit of 150,000 miles. However, MVP, MVP Gold, and MVP 75K members can purchase miles without an annual limit, though multiple transactions may be required.

At a 100% bonus, the cost per mile is 1.88 US cents. This matches the price from a previous 100% bonus sale, while a prior 110% bonus sale offered miles at 1.79 cents each. The actual bonus received varies per member and can be checked on the Alaska Airlines website.

Alaska Airlines is part of the Oneworld alliance, allowing mile redemptions with all Oneworld partners. The airline also maintains partnerships with several non-Oneworld carriers, including Starlux, Korean Air, Philippine Airlines, and Condor.

Purchased miles are non-refundable and do not count towards status points for elite tiers such as Atmos Silver, Atmos Gold, Atmos Platinum, or Atmos Titanium.

Opinion

Another Alaska Airlines "Mystery Sale" that requires you to check your individual bonus. While a 120% bonus is decent, many members will likely receive less, making the value proposition weaker. The stated price of 1.88 cents per mile at a 100% bonus is not particularly aggressive compared to past sales. Only consider buying if you have a specific, high-value redemption in mind and receive a top-tier bonus.
