Tall skyscraper against a pastel sky

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the InterContinental Taipei on 12 October 2026. This property marks the brand's fourth InterContinental hotel in Taiwan and its second collaboration with Farglory Group, following the InterContinental Kaohsiung.

Property Details

Located in the Taipei Dome complex in the Xinyi District, the hotel features 347 rooms. Classic Rooms start at approximately 38 square metres, while residential-style suites begin at approximately 76 square metres and include a full kitchen, dining area, and in-suite laundry. Some rooms offer views of Taipei 101.

The InterContinental Taipei offers seven dining concepts, including restaurants by Chef Akira Back. Amenities include an indoor pool, a fitness centre, and a Club InterContinental lounge. Event spaces are also available.

Expanding Presence in Taiwan

The InterContinental Taipei joins three other InterContinental properties in the Taiwan market: InterContinental Kaohsiung (opened 2021), InterContinental Taichung (opened 2024), and InterContinental New Taipei Hot Spring (opened 2025).

Opinion

I've been waiting for this InterContinental to open, as I haven't been to Taipei for quite some time, and this is the first location actually in the city (InterContinental New Taipei Hot Spring is outside Taipei). Also, my go-to hotel group (Accor) pulled out of the Taiwanese market completely a few years ago, so IHG needs to step up.
