Air Canada Aeroplan Offers Up to 100% Bonus on Purchased Miles

Air Canada Aeroplan has launched a new promotion allowing members to purchase miles with a bonus of up to 100%. The offer is available for purchases made between 11 September 2026 and 25 September 2026.

The bonus percentage is tiered based on the number of miles purchased. Members buying between 5,000 and 25,000 Aeroplan points will receive a 50% bonus. Purchases between 30,000 and 70,000 Aeroplan points qualify for a 75% bonus. The maximum 100% bonus applies to purchases of 80,000 Aeroplan points or more.

With the 100% bonus, the price per mile is 1.35 US cents. There is no bonus for purchases under 5,000 miles. Purchased miles are non-refundable.

Members can buy a minimum of 5,000 and up to 500,000 Aeroplan points per transaction for their own account. The maximum number of miles that can be purchased in a calendar year for one's own account is 1,000,000. For gifted miles, a transaction limit of 500,000 points applies, with an annual maximum of 500,000 points per recipient. Bonus points do not count towards these transactional or annual limits.

Eligible Aeroplan points and bonus points are generally posted within 72 hours of purchase. Bonus points earned through this offer do not count towards Aeroplan Elite Status Everyday Status Qualification or as Status Qualifying Credits (SQC).

Opinion

A 100% bonus is decent, bringing the cost down to 1.35 US cents per mile. While not the absolute lowest price we've seen (1.14 cents in 2024 with a 125% bonus), it's a solid option for topping up an account for a specific redemption. The extensive list of partner airlines and the ability to book complex itineraries online with stopovers add significant value to Aeroplan miles.
