Eurowings Launches New PremiumBIZ Cabin From London Heathrow

Eurowings, Lufthansa’s low-cost subsidiary, has begun offering its new ‘PremiumBIZ’ cabin on routes from London Heathrow (LHR). Unlike standard European short-haul business class with blocked middle seats, PremiumBIZ features a dedicated 2-2 seating configuration with recliner seats, similar to North American domestic First Class.

Availability and Routes

The PremiumBIZ cabin will be installed across all eight of Eurowings’ A320neo aircraft. Each aircraft will have two rows of PremiumBIZ at the front, totalling eight seats. Initially, these aircraft are primarily intended for services from Berlin, Stuttgart, and Cologne/Bonn to Dubai.

However, the airline will rotate these aircraft through other destinations with high demand for premium travel, including London. Flights from London Heathrow with the PremiumBIZ cabin are now bookable on the following routes:

• Heathrow to Dusseldorf: Available from 5th November, initially intermittent, increasing to up to four flights per day.

• Heathrow to Berlin: Available from 17th November, on at least one flight per day.

Fares for flights from London start from £120, and the option to upgrade from economy appears to be available. Eurowings’ flight search tool indicates flights featuring PremiumBIZ with a black label for easy identification.

As a Lufthansa Group carrier, passengers can earn and spend Miles & More miles on these flights. Eurowings also maintains wpartnership agreements with airlines including Air Canada, ANA, and United Airlines.

Finally. The business class seats on almost all European airlines is a joke compared to America and APAC. Hopefully other airlines will follow and offer real business class seats on some of their routes.
