United Airlines Adds 10 New International Routes for 2027, Expands Existing Services

United Airlines will expand its international network in 2027, adding 10 new destinations in Europe and Asia and increasing service to three existing locations. The expansion, described by United as its largest international network expansion to date, introduces new non-stop flights from the United States to several markets not currently served by any other US carrier.

New Routes for 2027

The new international routes are scheduled to launch between March and June 2027, pending regulatory approvals. Key additions include:

• San Francisco – Okinawa/Naha: Beginning 27 March 2027, three times weekly, operated by Boeing 777-200ER.

• New York Newark – Luxembourg: Daily service starting 2 April 2027, utilising the Airbus A321XLR.

• Washington Dulles – Toulouse: Daily flights from 26 April 2027, operated by Airbus A321XLR.

• New York Newark – Ljubljana: Four times weekly from 12 May 2027, operated by Boeing 767-400ER.

• New York Newark – Olbia: Three times weekly from 27 May 2027, operated by Boeing 767-300ER.

• New York Newark – Catania: Four times weekly from 28 May 2027, operated by Boeing 767-300ER.

• New York Newark – Ibiza: Four times weekly from 31 May 2027, operated by Airbus A321XLR.

• New York Newark – Valencia: Three times weekly from 2 June 2027, operated by Airbus A321XLR.

• New York Newark – Marseille: Daily service from 4 June 2027, operated by Airbus A321XLR.

• New York Newark – Terceira: Three times weekly from 9 June 2027, operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8.

Eight of these 10 new destinations, including Luxembourg, are currently not served non-stop from the United States by any other US airline.

Expanded Service and Aircraft Deployment

In addition to the new destinations, United Airlines is increasing frequencies or resuming service on existing routes:

• Los Angeles – Osaka: Daily flights from 27 March 2027.

• Denver – Paris Charles de Gaulle: Daily flights from 27 May 2027.

• Washington Dulles – Milan: Three times weekly from 28 May 2027.

• San Francisco – Tel Aviv: Three times weekly resumption of service from 28 March 2027.

The new Airbus A321XLR aircraft will play a significant role in this expansion, being deployed on new routes to Luxembourg, Toulouse, Ibiza, Valencia, and Marseille. This aircraft is configured with 20 United Polaris suites, offering all-aisle access, and 12 United Premium Plus seats. The A321XLR is expected to make its international debut on 1 December 2026, on routes from Washington Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin.

United Airlines currently operates one of the most extensive international networks among US carriers, serving over 160 international destinations from its primary hubs including Chicago O’Hare, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York Newark, San Francisco, and Washington Dulles.
